Twitter has updated its mute, block and report features— so people could feel safe in order to express themselves freely on the social networking site.
Block
Twitter has updated its block button to hide retweets from users’ account; people who use the function can’t see each other’s tweet anymore. While previously, Twitter allowed users to retweet the tweets even if they have blocked the person.
‘Your Tweets become invisible to them and theirs are banished from your timeline,’ Twitter said.
Twitter called it a powerful update to restrict people from contacting or seeing your tweets logged in.

Mute
The Mute option allows users to hide another person’s tweet without them being notified.

Report
The Report is more of a safety feature, which allows users to report any abuse on Twitter.
Once the tweet is flagged, Twitter will eliminate the tweet or tweets from the users feed. And then, will review it to see if it violates the Twitter rules, if it does, that account will be locked or permanently suspended.
