MWC 2016: What to expect from the biggest tech exhibition
New Delhi: The GSMA Mobile World Congress is going to be held at the end of this month in Barcelona and mobile operators and technology providers will be exhibiting new smartphones and gadgets from across the world.
Tech savvys can expect big hardware-focused announcements during the five-day exhibition starting February 22.
Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation Sony may announce some new Xperia tablet or an update to its wearables line. Although, Sony smartphone is not expected at MWC 2016, the Techcrunch reported.
American tech giant Microsoft is also less likely to announce any major smartphones with continued job cuts to its mobile making division under CEO Satya Nadella.
Canadian telecommunication and wireless equipment company BlackBerry may launch a second Android device at MWC this year, although the company is not going to be make any flagship hardware launches.
South Korean multinational conglomerate company, Samsung is expected to unveil S7 and S7 Edge (its curved-edge screen variant). Some substantial news around its Gear VR platform is also expected.
