WhatsApp to soon get dark, just like YouTube

WhatsApp is working on some cool features for its platform which will stimulate the experience of messaging through the app. Just today we reported about the company planning to infuse iPhone-like ‘swipe to reply’ feature which will enable the convenience of just swiping the message to reply for it. However, that’s not all. The Facebook-owned messenger app will also introduce the dark mode for its app very soon, similar to what YouTube recently got for Android users.

WABetaInfo took to Twitter to disclose the exclusive information they got about WhatsApp having started to work towards the Dark Mode for the popular messenger app. Moreover, the source also goes on to clarify that it hopes the feature will be full OLED-friendly for Android phones along with latest iPhones as well.

In yet another Tweet, WABetaInfo shared the rendering of how the dark mode in WhatsApp would look like. Looking at the pictures, we get a fair idea that it will surely be pleasant to the eyes. The Black chat background along with the Grey message boxes bearing the White text, all of that will be novel and elegant for WhatsApp users.

Apart from the looks, the dark mode will considerably lower down the strain which is put on eyes during long chatting sessions. There’s no official confirmation from the company as of now but this should hopefully be the next big update for the highly-adapted messenger.
