WhatsApp may soon roll out Snapchat-like Stories feature

WhatsApp is planning to add a new feature to its iOS app, wherein users will be able to avail the Snapchat-like Stories experience.
WhatsApps end-to-end encryption relies on a set of keys that verify whether the sender and the receiver are, who they claim to be. But the receivers encryption key will change if the app is re-installed, the handset is replaced or there is a change of mobile number.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature wherein users will be able to exchange photos and videos that will disappear after 24 hours. The new addition is similar to Snapchat’s Stories feature.

WABetaInfo recently tweeted an alleged image of the upcoming feature, that will apparently be available on iOS first. The tweet read, “Status introduction text updated in WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.4+.” The leaked image shows that the feature will be available through the privacy settings.

Rumours regarding the new feature have been around since November last year. Facebook has tried to mimic numerous Snapchat features in the past.
