Now stream Facebook videos on TV
Facebook has added Apple TV and Chromecast support in its network to help users stream their videos on big screens whenever they wish to.
Facebook has introduced a small button — a TV-like icon — which can be seen on the top-right corner of the Facebook window, using which they stream the video. When clicking on the button, it will provide users with an option to select one of the supported device — Apple TV or Chromecast.
“Whether you are hanging out with friends or just relaxing on the couch by yourself, we hope you enjoy this new way to watch videos on Facebook,” said Facebook’s Product Director Brent Ayrey, in a blog post.
On the plus side, while users are streaming a video on TV, Facebook will allow users to access the social media website on their smartphone for other purposes, including news feed and stories, without disturbing the streaming video.
The new video streaming feature works with both pre-recorded videos and Facebook Live. Live videos will include features similar to the app, which includes real-time reactions and comments that stream across the screen. Users will also be able to add their reactions on the app while simultaneously watching the video on their large TV screens.
