Hyperloop Pod: Travel from Chennai to Bengaluru in 30 minutes
It has been learnt that US-based start-up Hyperloop Transportation System (HTT), hoping to make high-speed travel a reality, has selected India as a potential market to initiate the project and also a talent pool, according to reports.
HTT officials have been in talks with the Indian government authorities to see the feasibility of introducing the crowd-funded project in India.
HTT has been burning the candle at both ends to conceptualize the idea of Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk, involving travel pods, capable of transgressing large distances at very high speeds above 1,200 Km per hour.
Earlier Musk pointed out, the Hyperlook would essentially be a futuristic train which is a “cross between a concorde, a railgun, and an air hockey table.” It is based on a high speed transit system which combines a magnetic levitation train and low pressure transit tubes.
The project was tested earlier in May on a small-scale basis would be tested again later on a larger scale in 2019 in California. If the proposed project sees daylight, it would bring down high-speed travel costs—500Km in Rs 2,000 or less.
Besides, it would also be a boon for the large technology talent pool in India who might get a chance to work on the project.
