iPhone 8 leak spotted, final design revealed with key features

This front facing sensor will specifically be used for the front-facing camera and the earpiece.

The iPhone 8 is slated to be launched this year and it has been a regular flow of leaks with information that confirms some of the rumors we’ve heard before about Apple’s upcoming flagship product.

Now a new set of photos have been posted on reddit and allegedly coming from an industry source which is close to Apple’s Chinese manufacturers claims which show the final design of the iPhone 8, while also confirming that Apple is indeed working on some pretty major feature upgrades for the device.

Firstly, the photos come in line with recent speculation that Apple was working on narrower bezels for the iPhone 8. It has been confirmed that Apple removes the Home button and instead goes for an edge-to-edge approach, with the only notable thing on the front being the sensor bar at the top.

This latest sensor will specifically be used for the front-facing camera and the earpiece, with some sources also claiming that it could incorporate a face and iris-recognition system for additional security. This camera will enable biometric authentication on the new iPhone, as Apple is following in the footsteps of rival Samsung.

The rear panel now looks like Apple is indeed on its way to adopt the vertical dual-camera layout. This is likely because it reworks the internal layout of the device and Apple might have wanted to make it thinner. Also, there is no rear fingerprint sensor (thank goodness!) despite rumors that Apple could move Touch ID to the back of the phone; it appears that the fingerprint reader might actually be placed under the display.

Furthermore, the back panel is made of glass, which means that Apple is almost certainly planning to make wireless charging available to the latest iPhone 8.

And the best of all, this feature won’t be available only on the iPhone 8, but also on the iPhone 7s and 7S Plus, as they’ll all be made of glass and boast wireless charging.

The launch of the overhauled iPhone generation is slated to take place in the fall, most likely in September, so expect more leaks to happen in the meantime.
