BenQ has launched its new 27-inch display featuring a full HD resolution, a wide colour gamut and HDR10 support. The EW277HDR display comes with a price tag of $269 and is available via Amazon as well as other retailers.

The monitor is based on a 27-inch VA panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, 300 nits brightness (400 nits peak brightness in HDR mode), 3000:1 static contrast ratio, 4ms GtG response time, and 178° viewing angles.

The company says that the monitor meets the requirements to display HDR10 content thanks to its high 3000:1 native contrast ratio and a powerful backlight capable of up to 400 cd/m² brightness. The main highlight of the monitor is formal support for HDR10 and 93 per cent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space.

Moreover, to enhance users experience, the monitor has a button that switches between four HDR modes (including HDR emulation) and the Brightness Intelligence Plus mode that softens bright areas while preserving contrast levels based on ambient brightness and colour temperature.

The monitor comes equipped with a D-Sub connector and two HDMI 2.0a inputs. Users, who want to experience HDR10 video content, need to have a graphics adapter with a driver and software that support the standard. The monitor has two 2W speakers and 3.5mm audio in/out jacks.
