SAN FRANCISCO: Elon Musk named former NBCUniversal advertising chief Linda Yaccarino as the new Twitter CEO on Friday. In a tweet, he announced that Linda will focus on business operations.
"I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!" Musk said. “@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology,” read his tweet.
Musk had on Thursday said he has hired a woman to replace him as boss of Twitter and its newly named X Corporation parent, but did not give a name. However, a section of media had speculated earlier that Linda could be the new Twitter CEO after a statement from NBCUniversal said there global advertising chief had resigned from her role "effective immediately".
