Facebook is testing ads in groups
The ads format will remain same, which means ads will appear the same as New Feed ads.
After Facebook announced to refine the newsfeed ads from its website, the social media giant has started testing ads in its Group feature.
In a statement to TechCrunch, Facebook confirmed the testing process. “We have started to test delivering ads to people in Facebook Groups, and will be evaluating the response before determining how we will move forward,” Facebook said.
The company is currently conducting a trial test in mobile and desktop versions of Groups in Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.
The ads format will remain same, which means ads will appear same as the New Feed ads. However, ads will be targeted based on Group topics and real world identities of each individual, also known as identity-based targeting.
