Samsung working with safety commission post recall of Note 7 devices
Samsung recently announced a voluntary recall of all Galaxy Note 7 smartphones after reports of batteries catching fire started surfacing online. The company managed a recall operation even though the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) wasn’t involved.
However, the company has now made it official that it is, indeed, working with the United States' Consumer Product Safety Commission on a voluntary plan for expediting the US recall of Note 7 devices. The CPSC also further stated that they wish to determine whether or not a replacement is an acceptable solution for the Galaxy Note 7 problem.
The FAA recently issued a warning, prohibiting passengers from charging their Note 7 devices on flight and since CPSC is now involved, FAA could even ban the phone from being taken to airplanes.
