Men dressed as Apple staff steal iPhones worth $16,000
A couple of men dressed similar to Apple staff managed to steal 19 iPhones, worth a total of $16,130.
An online news service, Dnainfo reported the incident of two men stealing about 19 iPhones from the Apple store in SoHo.
According to a NYPD police, the men were dressed similar to Apple store employees—a blue T-shirt with an imprinted Apple logo.
The incident took place at 5.30 pm, on June 1.
The Police claimed that one of thieves directly entered the repair room located in the back of the store and picked all the iPhones he could find, and further handed them over to another thief, who then hid them under his shirt and the pair walked out of the store.
This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred; there have been many such cases reported in the past as well. Most likely, some of these iPhone will end up for an online sale.
The police continue to investigate the case by keeping an eye on online marketing websites like Ebay, to track the thieves, if such post appears.
