New WhatsApp update allows GIF search, more attachments

In the newest 2.17.16 beta version, users can now use a new GIF button that appears at the bottom of the screen.

WhatsApp has notably been releasing new features lately. First, the company launched the video calling feature and gradually integrated the ability to convert videos and share them as GIFs.

Now a new report by Android Police suggests that the new beta version of the app comes with a function that allows users to search, choose and send GIFs directly from WhatsApp.

The latest 2.17.16 beta version comes with a separate GIF button located at the bottom of the screen. Users can tap it and gain access to a wide variety of GIFs within the message window. Tap on the magnifying glass in the bottom left corner of the screen and swipe left or right to find the one that you want. You can even add a caption to it.

The same report also suggests that WhatsApp has apparently raised the limit on the number of pictures users can share at once. Previously, one could only send 10 pictures in one go, however; the new update comes with the ability to send 30 pictures in one go.

In order to avail the latest features, one is required to download the beta version of app which is only available for those who are a part of the WhatsApp beta testing community. Users can join in the program in the Play Store.
