How platforms are helping Women proportion to grow across sectors in India

Platforms are addressing problems and helping these women to make changes in the society.

The government has begun work on a comprehensive policy to increase the participation of women in the workforce over the next five years to at least 30%, in line with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s poll promise. India needs to increase the women workforce to the global average of 48% in 10 next years: Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog.

According to a study published in the Area Development and Policy (ADP) journal – The economic growth does not have an immediate positive impact on gender equality, lack of health infrastructure is majorly contributing to the diminishing women labour force in the country,

A recent Deloitte report showed that women’s participation in the Indian labour force has fallen to 26% in 2018 from 36.7% in 2005, pointing out that 95% or 195 million women are employed in the unorganised sector or in unpaid jobs. Many of the issues for these women are the same, from questions of male domination to secret dialogue, to discrimination to pay inequalities, to travelling solo and get a better education. Platforms are addressing this problem and helping these women to make changes in the society/ showcase talent in society and also help to increase the participation of women at the workplace by reskilling and upskilling the employees
