Macbook Pro may have a fingerprint sensor

The new MacBook Pros will be thinner, lighter and will ditch many of its ports for Type-C port.

Apple will soon be launching its new Macbook Pro, and the notebook is expected to witness few alterations, including an in-built fingerprint sensor for advanced security.

According to a new report form 9to5Mac, Apple will be adding a TouchID its new iteration of the Macbook Pro, that will be integrated in the power key. The notebook will also sport OLED touch-sensitive function key display.

It is possible that the TouchID will not work with mobile payments. Apple’s next desktop OS MacOS Sierra, will allow for web payments using Apple Pay and Touch ID authentication via iPhone.

The report also suggests that the MacBook Air would be launched as the entry-level machine, a 13-inch MacBook as the mid-tier and the two MacBook Pro models for the premium segment.

The new MacBook Pros will be thinner, lighter and exclude many of its ports, replaced by USB Type-C port to handle power, data and video output.
