A Google spokesperson confirmed that the Verify Apps can identify and block apps using QuadRooter.

After the discovery of the QuadRooter vulnerability affecting Android devices with Qualcomm chips, Google said that the Verify Apps feature, included in Google Play, does not let malicious apps affect devices.

According to a statement issued to Android Central, A Google spokesperson confirmed that the Verify Apps can identify and block apps using QuadRooter.

He also pointed out that three of the four vulnerabilities have already been fixed and the fourth one related to CVE-2016-5340 will be dealt with in the next security bulletin.

However, he pointed out that the main issue for the attacks can be attributed to the carelessness of users who download and install malicious apps even after being notified about the vulnerability.
