WhatsApp: Now spot forwarded messages to keep spam in check

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will label all forwarded messages with a \"Forwarded\" tag on it.

WhatsApp keeps on incorporating new features to make the platform more engaging and spam free. In a bid to keep a check on spam messages and fake stories, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will label all forwarded messages with a "Forwarded" tag on it.

The new feature will help distinguish between the forwarded messages and original messages. The "forwarded" label will show up on both the recipients and senders end. One can check the newly added feature by just selecting and forwarding one of the messages available within another chat. In addition, this feature is set by default and cannot be altered.

Currently, the new feature has not been rolled out to the stable version of the app and is only available on 2.18.179 Beta version. Unfortunately, the new addition is only available for Android platform and not for iOS and Web version. It is available through the Google Play or in an APK file form via APK Mirror.

Besides, WhatsApp recently added a feature called New media visibility that allows users to decide whether they want WhatsApp media content to be showcased in the gallery or not. This feature is truly useful as this will save a lot of additional space on your phone.

Apart from label forwarded messages and new media visibility features, the messaging platform also incorporated a feature named click chat that allows users to send messages to numbers that are not saved in their contact list. This means that you now don't have to save unnecessary numbers just for a one-time conversation.
