Snapchat out with new feature
Snapchat is rolling out a new feature that comes with a tool to help create custom face lenses. Users can also add new captions with the feature. The lenses start from $9.99 and go up depending on the size of the location the user has chosen, duration of the lens, among other factors.
Users can choose from 150 different lens templates. It also comes with personalised text. The lens tool is currently available from desktop browsers or through the Snapchat app on iOS. This feature is quite similar to Snapchat’s ‘Geofilters’.
The company says that users should complete their custom lens purchase 3 hours before the event for it to function on time.
This new feature is their attempt to push the app to more users. Last year, Snapchat revealed that it was going for a redesign to make it more accessible. Last week, it introduced new customisation options to its Bitmoji app.
Along with this new feature, Snapchat is also launching new font styles for captions. Brush, italic, glow, gradient, rainbow, fancy, and old English are the new fonts that can be used for both photos and videos.
