Concierge for the hospy!

Three likeminded individuals in the city have gotten together to give that oft-dreaded hospital visit a make over!

Looking to solve the problem of waiting in long queues at city hospitals, Barkha and Sanjay Mahtani have devised InHealth Concierge with the help of young entrepreneur Rohit R Saraf. The idea you ask? With the help of the app and technology, this backbone for on ground services is all set to provide a stress free experience.

Rohit met Sanjay and Barkha Mahtani after returning from UK and was dabbling with an idea of creating an iPad branding app for a restaurant and turned to his friend, to create a prototype. "We worked on Sanjay’s JSM hospitality brands and soon worked on InHealth project in partnership with Barkha Mahtani.”

After completing his under-graduation at Swansea University and MBA at Cardiff Business School, UK, Rohit has been working at the InHealth startup. Rohit shares, “The idea was conceptualised by Sanjay after an unfortunate experience at a hospital where his close family member was admitted. That's when he decided to step in and bring hospitality to healthcare. If he truly believes in an idea, he doesn't rest until it becomes a reality. He persuaded Barkha and me to bring his idea to life. We have our hospitality staff on the ground 24/7 at our partner hospitals like Manipal, Narayana Health etc.”

So how is it different from others in this space, we prod and Rohit reveals, “It’s a novel idea that has taken wings. There’s no one else providing end to end solutions at the hospitals with focus on healthcare support services. These services are designed to assist members at every step of their healthcare journey, as the specialist trained concierges provide a first-class, individual service right from booking appointments, in special cases picking them up from their home for their hospital visit, standing in queue for their tests, facilitating admittance, billing and discharge processes, collecting medicines etc.”

But no startup is devoid of challenges. “Since it’s a new concept, it has proved to be a double-edged sword. We’ve managed to flesh out the details, demonstrated its immense value to hospitals and patients and managed to put all the puzzle pieces together. Peace of mind and hospital usually do not go together, but we intend to change that as now you can save time at every stage of the treatment, get easier access to medical specialists and services. We have a call centre, trained concierges and a mobile app. If one has a medical issue, they need to just give a call and our call centre liaises with on-ground concierges at the hospital will book appointments. They also guide them for queries and pending hospital visits navigating through complicated hospital formalities like a breeze. The app acts as a virtual assistant which gives members quick access to appointments, a hotline number and live chat option, offers from partner hospitals, personal health record manager and also medicine reminders.”
