Sony latest reveal, multi-window on latest Android update for Xperia X

The features were revealed to only a select group of users in Europe

Sony has had a program called “Concept for Android” for quite some time. The general idea is to recruit fans as beta testers for its latest builds before they are released to the general public. There would be no second guesses as to whether the company will be working on the latest update for Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Xperia X series because some users in Europe are now able to enjoy the first preview of Sony’s new UI.

The report has outlined a few features which are new. There are also some visual changes, Nougat’s “improved” notifications — which means actionable notifications. Also another feature is the multi-window. This feature would be useful on large screen smartphone like the Xperia X/Performance, but the details are sketchy for the 4.6-inch Xperia X Compact.

There is also a new app called inTouch. It is a singular two-way communication channel between users and the Sony development team. Users can use it as a platform for support, but also to answer surveys and, supposedly, help improve future Sony products.
