Meizu Pro 6 confirmed for April 13 launch

The company's CEO Zhang Huang has teased a dedicated event to launch the company's latest flagship Meizu Pro 6 on April 13.

Mumbai: Looking forward to strengthen its smartphone line up, Chinese handset manufacturer Meizu is all geared up to launch its latest Pro 6 handset into the market.

According to recent rumours and reports, the company’s CEO Zhang Huang has teased a dedicated event to launch the company’s latest flagship Meizu Pro 6 on April 13.

Huang had earlier posted a teaser image on Wiebo, which shows the back end of the smartphone revealing the primary camera along with the LED flash.

The same report pointed out that the Pro 6 will be the first ever handset to be powered by a 2.5 GHz deca-core Helio X25 processor, at least for the first few months.

An agreement between Meizu and MediaTek will allow the handset manufacturer to utilise the latter’s updated chipset in the Pro 6 for the initial couple of months.

The other striking facet of this smartphone is the plastic OLED or P-OLED display, which will probably be the main USP of the Pro 6.

Word from the rumour mills also suggested that the company is looking forward to incorporate 3D Touch tech with the Pro 6 as well but there has been no official confirmation.

Other speculated specification details hinted that the device will pack either 3GB or 4GB RAM, 21MP primary camera with a Sony sensor, and will run on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box with the company’s proprietary UI on top.

The Pro 6 will employ an impressive 3,500 mAH battery for prolonged usage and it could also feature a Type-C USB port.
