Xiaomi has confirmed to unveil the next version of its MIUI operating system on August 16 in China. The confirmation was announced on the firm’s forum, revealing the MIUI’s product manager did share some development plans on social media platform Weibo. “Do note that the screenshot above is just an ordinary theme and it has nothing to do with MIUI 9,” noted Xiaomi’s MIUI forum. However, the post shared on the platform never disclosed what the new OS has to offer.
Xiaomi says the version will be based on Google’s Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Xiaomi has revealed the list of devices which will be eligible for the next version.
