Nokia 5.1 gets Bluetooth certification, could hit Indian markets soon

Launched first in China as the Nokia X5, the handset could be reaching international markets in the near future.

Last month, Nokia announced the X5 in China and it featured a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 display with an impressive 84 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 2.5D glass protection. Since its launch, there were rumours claiming that the handset will hit global markets with the Nokia 5.1 branding. As per a report by report by NokiaPowerUser, five variants of the handset have received Bluetooth certification.

As per the report, the certification listing has revealed the models of the Nokia 5.1 are TA-1102, TA-1105, TA-1108, TA-1112, and TA-1120. The TA-1105 has been certified for Malaysia while the rest are meant for international markets.

As of now, there is no word on the launch date, but in all probability, the Nokia 5.1 should be announced alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India.

The Nokia 5.1 is believed to feature the same specs as the X5. So with this in mind, the Nokia X5 features a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 display with an 84 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 2.5D glass protection. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and the device is upgradeable to Android P. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, accompanied by 3GB RAM/32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/64GB configurations, which is expandable up to 256GB. It is backed by a 3060mAh battery.

In terms of optics, there is a 13MP+5MP camera sensor along with a f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. For selfies, the X5 features an 8MPlens with a f/2.2 aperture. The Nokia X5 retails at a price of CNY 999 (approx Rs 9,999) for the 3GB RAM/2GB storage option and CNY 1399 (approx Rs 14,200) for the 4GB/64GB options.

On social media, Nokia has been teasing an upcoming event, so in all likelihood, the Nokia 5.1 will be launched in India in the near future.
