Google welcomes Nokia's decision to re-enter the smartphone business

Nokia recently made it official that they were indeed, re-entering the smartphone business in Q1 of 2017.
Nokia and Airtel did not comment on the value of the deal.
Nokia recently made it official that they were indeed, re-entering the smartphone business in Q1 of 2017. The next Nokia-branded smartphone, that will be launched by HMD Global, is said to run Google’s Android operating system. Therefore, former will be benefiting from all Google’s services and apps.
HMD Global CEO Arto Nummela in an interview with Forbes said, “Yes, we’re working with Google, and they are extremely eager to see Nokia in the Android line-up.”
Numella further confirmed that HMD Global will be present at Mobile World Congress 2017 in late February. The company will initially be focusing on promoting the Nokia brand on the handsets.
