Kantar World Panel had revealed last month that the most used Samsung smartphone in the US was the Galaxy S5, but it seems that worldwide, the Galaxy S7 holds the highest user base among all Samsung smartphones.

The study has also stated that it took 579 days for the Galaxy S5 to peak in popularity and reach a share of 5.5% in November 2015, while the Galaxy S6 reached its maximum user base in June 2016 at 3.1%, 428 days after the smartphone was released.

The Galaxy S7 grew in popularity over the 400 days since it was released and had already been used more than Galaxy S5 and S6. Samsung managed to sell 55 million Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones by the end of the Q1 2017.

The report however does not enumerate information on the Galaxy S8. But seeing how the smartphone was only recently launched in the market, it is normal. But the flagship has a massive potential to exponentially grow its user base, as some Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6 owners might be looking to upgrade.

Samsung did say that pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ surpassed those of previous company flagships, managing to set new records in Korea and recording encouraging levels in the US.

Samsung is looking towards making the galaxy S8 as the most sold Samsung smartphone. But until then, to achieve that Samsung is offering various promotions for the purchase of the Galaxy S8, thus attracting more and more customers. With the launch of the exciting Galaxy Note 8 set later this year, 2017 could be a very successful year for the South Korean smartphone maker.
