‘MYBYK’, bicycle app giving Corporates the eco-friendly solution

Simply press the unlock button and the bike opens automatically.

For any company, becoming sustainable is one of their primary CSR goals. However, some companies have realised that being sustainable also makes economic sense. An Ahmedabad based company providing sustainable mobility solutions MYBYK has been able to convince the likes of Reliance Industries Limited, Suzuki Motors Gujarat & ISRO to replace their existing gas guzzling shuttle buses and cars within the campus with smartBYK, an IOT enabled dockless bicycle ‘sharing’ system.

“We went to the companies and explained how a smartBYK system of 150 cycles can replace 10 cars with a 60 per cent less operating cost. Not only that, the solution reduces effective commute time by 50 per cent as employees do not need to wait for a shuttle and go round the campus while shuttle drops other riders to their destination point” says Arjit Soni, Founder & CEO, Greenpedia Bike Share Private Limited (the company that owns and operates MYBYK).

With smartBYK, any person can commute from point to point at his will without depending on anyone”. Explaining how smartBYK works, Arjit says it’s as easy as Download, Unlock, Ride & Return.

The experience is akin to Uber where the app automatically pans you to the nearest station to your location and when you click on it, it shows the list of cycles available at the station. Simply press the unlock button and the bike opens automatically.

Bagging a maiden project for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) in Ahmedabad, MYBYK is now eyeing expansion to all BRTS stations in Ahmedabad with a fully automated IOT enabled dockless bicycle-sharing service. The company currently caters to both B2B and B2C segments and counts Reliance Industries Limited (900 cycles), ISRO (300 cycles), Adani Shantigram, SRF Chemicals Ltd., Baxter, Wonder Cement, among its esteemed clientele.
