GoPro Hero 5 expected to feature touchscreen with a new UI
GoPro’s next action camera is most likely to be named Hero 5, and thanks to new leaks we have an idea on what to expect from the next offering.
Recently a video surfaced on Vimeo showing the new interface of upcoming GoPro action camera. Iturbe believes that, someone within GoPro may have accidentally pushed the video out early.
The video shows three sections on a mockup GoPro Hero camera with a touchscreen on the back: GoPro app, Remote and Sniper. The latter could be referencing a microphone attachment of some sort, Iturbe said.
The video also reveals the on-screen information such as the resolution, frame rate and field of view, and only shows 1080p and 30 fps. The new camera is expected to feature the 4K recording, just like its precursor.
It is possible that the touchscreen on the new camera will not support BagPac, the LCD screen you can attach to GoPros that don't have a display. According to Iturbe the Hero 5 won't support the BacPac.
GoPro's is also expanding its portfolio beyond the action camera, and drones and VR are going to be very important goals for their business.
