New BlackBerry on its way with fingerprint scanner and QWERTY keyboard
TCL is expected to release a new and exciting BlackBerry device during the Consumer Electronics Show this year, to be held in Las Vegas. President and General Manager Steve Cistulli have just released a video teaser of the upcoming phone.
The video is 4-second long, posted on Twitter, shows off the QWERTY keyboard on the upcoming BlackBerry Mercury phone. The video however, does not give out much about the phone but enough to be excited about the unveiling.
Blackberry Mercury will feature a QWERTY keyboard and the smartphone is touted to come with a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with 1620 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 3,400mAh battery. It would run an octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3GB of RAM wit 32GB of internal storage. Moreover, the smartphone is also expected to come with a fingerprint scanner and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
There are no details on the name of the smartphone, Mercury being its codename, similar to Argon being the codename for the DTEK60. There are speculations that the name of this smartphone would be DTEK70, but that is just speculation at this point.
