Microsoft has finally rolled out its much awaited Anniversary update for Windows 10. The update brings lot of improvements to the operating system, focusing more on mobile devices this time.
There is a new feature called the ‘Windows ink’, enabling users to use their Windows 10 device like piece of paper. The update now offers a delivers a dedicated solution that lets users create sticky notes on the desktop, draw on a whiteboard, and share content easily straight from the desktop.
The Start menu now comes with a hamburger icon that offers access to your account settings, File Explorer, settings, and power controls. The “All apps” view is now right at the center of the new design.
Cortana also receives few upgrades, allowing users to work directly from the lock screen and perform several tasks without unlocking the device. The update also overhauls the web browser Microsoft Edge. Users can now download several extensions available in the store.
There are many minor updates made to the operating system including new icons, better performance, and app updates. The update can be downloaded through the Windows update, which automatically downloads the required files and install the update.
No major updates will be released until spring 2017, but the company will continue to provide users with security patches every month. But as far as new features go, you will have to wait Redstone 2 is out.
