New HTC Nexus variant spotted on benchmarking website
HTC is expected to launch two new Google Nexus variants—Marlin and Sailfish—this year and one of them has been already spotted on popular benchmarking website, after a spec leak yesterday.
According to media reports, the new HTC Nexus Marlin—successor to the Nexus 6P— has been spotted on Geekbench, according to a tweet by Roland Quandt.

The listing has shed light on some of the salient specifications of the device; it will be powered by a 1.60Ghz processor and 4GB RAM. As expected with Google Nexus devices, it will be shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of the-box.
Other leaks that had surfaced earlier suggested that the phone will feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display and a USB Type-C port. Other than that, the handset is also expected to have a 12MP primary camera and an 8MP front snapper.
While there might be multiple variants ranging from 32GB to 128GB internal storage capacities, it will definitely sport a fingerprint scanner on the back. It is speculated to be backed up by a 3,250mAh battery.
Moreover, the second HTC Nexus smartphone Sailfish—successor to the Nexus 5X— is also expected to make its debut jointly with the Marlin.
This handset is expected to have a comparatively smaller 5-inch HD screen, with a pixel density of 440ppi. Word from the rumour mills pointed out that it would have a battery capacity of 2,770mAh.
While last year, both the Nexus devices were launched in September, it is still not known if the company will stick to the same schedule this time.
