MinersINC, India’s pioneering blockchain powered entertainment portal, recently launched the Beta version of the country’s first blockchain powered VOD platform myNK.

The platform comprises of a library curated with over  200 movies  (never before released in India) sourced from 34 countries and 23 languages, including critically acclaimed award-winning content from iconic festivals such as Tribeca, Cannes, Sundance, Berlin for Indian world cinema lovers for whom the realm of cinema goes beyond Hollywood and Bollywood.  MinersINC will officially launch the app in June.

myNK will feature international films such as Banksy Does New York, Burma VJ, Cinema Novo, Flamenco at 5.15, The Fabulous Allan Carr, Fish Tank , Glory, Google and the World Brain, The Light of the Moon, The Man Who Saved the Louvre, Rellik and Tonio, among others.

To get access to the edgiest work across the globe for the film enthusiasts, MinersINC has collaborated with the best of private and state-run international content rights holders such as all3media, Kew Films, Wide Management, Off The Fence, First Hand Films, Dutch Features, ELO, Imagination Films, NFB Canada, The Film Collaborative, and many more. This collaboration is the first of its kind for an Indian homegrown VoD platform.

The rights holders are excited about and support myNK’s unique social incentivisation and micro-distribution model, whereby fans are rewarded for their contributions, reviews, and onward-selling to other film buffs on the platform.

Wendy Bernfield, mentor-curator for myNK and Founder/Managing Director of international entertainment consultancy Rights Stuff, Amsterdam, said, “While European content stakeholders have always been interested in the Indian market, apprehension regarding the quality of content preferred as well as a complex distribution model hindered any attempts to enter it. In such a scenario, myNK arrives with lots of promise. It introduces a pioneering model that fuses the efficiency of cutting-edge technology with a rich content bank. European content right holders are extremely excited about being a part of this new journey through which content is made accessible to discerning audiences.”

Gary Woolf (EVP Strategic Development, all3media) commented “Working with MinersInc to make content available to the myNK platform has opened up the ability for us to take premium content direct to the Indian consumer on a transactional basis for the first time. The smart application of blockchain should allow us to reach a wide range of consumers across the country both securely and efficiently – providing our team with transparent reporting to track our success.”

Nathalie Bourdon (director, distribution and market development, National Film Board of Canada) said, “The NFB is proud to branch out to India to bring our curated collection of films to MinersINC VOD platform — an innovative, digital blockchain content provider. Partnering to create new and innovative ways to access our collection is part of the NFB DNA.”

Esther van Messel, Founder & CEO,First Hand Films, said, "First Hand Films have been curating carefully and for more than 20 years the best non-fiction to be found out there – we are proud and honored to be working with the first blockchain driven provider of selected content, opening up a new region for true stories in India. We’re curious to be working with the transparent reporting of data and learn in immediate time about trends and audiences. Happy to be digital pioneers again, and with such powerful partners".

Anurag Kashyap, acclaimed filmmaker and renowned crossover film personality in the country today, will serve as a mentor to myNK to help curate and oversee its content.  His association, complemented by the participation of a host of curators and industry experts, will lend further credibility to the platform’s content quality and MinerINC’s focus towards exposing Indian audiences to truly inspiring global work.
