Indian medical app launches chatbot service on Facebook messenger

The Lybrate bot lets you ask questions regarding health issues and give you suggestions based on it.

Mumbai: Chatbot have existed since a long time but it became prominent only after it was endorsed by tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Facebook.

Recently at the F8 developer’s conference, the Mark Zuckerberg-led social media networking site announced that it will let businesses introduce chatbots to its messenger platform, making it easier for users to avail services instantly.

Now an Indian online doctor consultancy app by the name Lybrate, which lets users communicate and contact over 1 million doctors, has introduced its own chat bot on Facebook messenger.

The Lybrate bot lets you ask questions regarding health issues and give you suggestions based on it. Users can easily ask questions after adding the free bot service to their messenger list but don’t expect it to have long, free-flowing conversations with you.

While the bot has only been designed to give expert health advice, users can also stay updated by turning on notifications from the app.

Adding to that is an interesting health quiz functionality that comes along with the chat bot, updating users about health issues that are generally ignored.
