App Boompi lets girls sneak into the private chat of their female friends and the male suitors upon invitation

Girls, don’t you enjoy a peek into your BFF’s dating convo? Voila! Boompi has rightly sensed the kinda girl you are and get you assured longer blush hours doing the thing that fascinates you the most. A newbie in the canon of dating apps, Boompi comes with a warning, “Girls can secretly add their girl friends to their chats with boys, so handle with care.” The app lets girls sneak into the private chat of their female friends and the male suitors upon invitation, and eavesdrop in anonymity (out of the boy’s earshot!).

Girls can allow their friends to the chat with boys and share his profile with the friend, in all secrecy — just turn on the “ghost mode”. It comes in just a couple of simple steps: Close to the boy’s name on his profile appears a share profile button. Click it and select to whom you want to share the profile with. If you have to do away with your girlfriend’s interference, never mind, remove her anytime you wish, your boyfriend will not know.

Telling you again, Boompi knows its customers well. Just get into the list of FAQs on the app’s website, where it has a dedicated “apply only to girls” section of question-answer to leave no iota of doubts with the users.

The girl can switch between the conversations with the boy or the female friend, ask the friend an opinion about the newly-found boy on app. The initial steps of Boompi are similar to Tinder, for choosing the match by swiping left or right, based on locations and preferences.

Why so much buzz over a girls-only business, where do all the boys go? Alejandro Ponce, the app’s male founder, answers, “Boys will be wherever girls are.” Techcrunch quotes him thus, “Boompi is like building a marketplace: If every girl is on Boompi, then every boy will want to join. One main issue for dating apps is that more than 70 per cent of the users are guys. On Boompi, it is the other way around.”

Earlier in 2011, Lulu, an app that allowed women to anonymously rate and review men kicked up quite a storm. Meanwhile, Boompi has been rated 3.8 points a few days within its launch.
