The launch of iPhone X took everyone by surprise, including the app developers. The anniversary edition iPhone features a taller screen and aspect ratio along with removal of iconic home button. Not to forget the notch above the display taking away some of the screen real estate. It was expected that developers will take some time to optimise their apps in line with the new layout and UI navigation gestures.
Google has been doing just that over the past few days and now the search giant has updated its popular apps i.e. Google Maps and Google Home for the iPhone X. You won’t see the black bars and cropped screens anymore with these apps on your shiny new iPhone X. The updated apps have not only received aspect ratio adjustment but also resolves some bugs and other performance issues. With these updates, Google has updated the majority of its core apps for the iPhone X, save for Gmail. If you are rocking one of the iPhone X then head over to the App store now.
