Global e-tailer Amazon on Thursday introduced its music streaming application for all its prime users in India at no additional cost.

CHENNAI: Global e-tailer Amazon on Thursday introduced its music streaming application for all its prime users in India at no additional cost. Amazon users who have subscribed to its flagship programmee, Prime, can listen to tens of millions of songs of various genre, languages and artists free of cost and get access to unlimited offline downloads.

The global e-tailer, which started India in 2013 after taking baby steps into the Indian market by launching Junglee.com a year before, says the new music application, which can be downloaded across platforms like Android, IoS and Windows, will give the users a new experience as they can listen to songs without any advertisements.

“The biggest pain point for the customers in such applications is the advertisements. Amazon Prime Music is completely free of advertisements. There will no text or visual advertisements while using the applications. We have made it this way to enhance the experience of the customers and users,” Sahas Malhotra, Director, Amazon Music India, told the launch press conference here.

The application can be downloaded by any Prime user on their devices and they can listen or download endless number of songs without any additional cost.

Sahas said Amazon's music experts have specially curated play lists and stations to give truly localized variant of global service to Indian customers.

The application has been customized to ensure that the music preferences of the listeners are stored in the system.
