Reliance Jio Prime: Users to be charged for calls after 1,000 minutes?
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance recently made their Jio Prime subscription service plans official. At the launch event, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani told viewers that the new services come at lower rates and complimentary apps worth Rs 10,000. The news surely come across as a delight to many, knowing that users can finally make use of network services at an economically-sound price.
However, don’t get your hopes high yet. A new report by Bloomberg Quint that cites CLSA, suggests that Reliance Jio Prime users will apparently be charged for calls to other operators post 1,000 minutes in a span of one month. “Reliance Jio has limited free voice up to the first 1,000 minutes per month, after which only calls within the Jio network will be free,” the report read.
However, a Reliance Jio spokesperson has refuted these claims. As per a report by Gadgets 360, the spokesperson said that the report is incorrect. The plans will be available as mentioned on the official website.
Moreover, in case of non-payment of plan’s charge, Reliance Jio could cancel that customer’s membership.
The free services that users enrolled for through the company’s Happy New Offer are all set to end on March 31. Post March 31st, Reliance Jio customers will have to start paying for the services they use.
Existing Jio customers can avail the new plans via the MyJio app or through the company’s official website (Jio.com).
