The six-second, infinite looping Vine app is coming back

According to a report, Vine at its peak, had around 200 million active users, but average Twitter users never really took to using the app.

Ever since the social media giant Twitter pulled the plug on its Vine social network, the fanatics are wondering what to do with the extra time on their hands. Well they may soon have an answer.

Vine co-creator Dom Hofmann recently tweeted that a ‘follow-up’ to the popular platform is in works. The tweet reads: "I've been feeling it myself for some time and have seen a lot of tweets, dms, etc."

According to a report, Vine at its peak, had around 200 million active users, but average Twitter users never really took to using the app. Although Twitter left us with a Vine Camera app, there wasn’t any destination, besides Twitter, where users can share their creative vines.

Hofmann also said in his tweets that he himself is funding the new project and it will not interfere with the work happening at Byte, the creator of Peach app and emoji-based Music Maker.

Since the project is funded by Dom himself, the development might be sluggish and it can take sometime before people start creating video content again.
