New device to detect breast cancer early

Illumina 360 degree has an accuracy rate of 97 per cent and can detect breast anomalies in women of all age groups.

Chennai: Late diagnosis remains a major challenge in treating breast cancer among women in India due to lack of awareness, risk of radiation, pain caused during mammography.

But a new device named Illumina 360 degree launched by CURA healthcare will help to bring an end to these challenges with the help of robot-assisted digital 360-degree breast thermography system.

“Advanced ultra-sensitive infrared camera of Illumina 360 degree aided by an advanced robot can sense these variations through varying temperature patterns and help detect tissue changes over time.

Illumina 360 degree can detect breast diseases earlier than other conventional screening modalities, without invasive and painful procedures,” said M Bala, president and CEO of CURA healthcare.

Illumina 360 degree has an accuracy rate of 97 per cent and can detect breast anomalies in women of all age groups without causing pain due to compression, without non-ionizing radiation and without human touch.
