Facebook tried to aquire Asian Snapchat clone Snow
According to a recent report, social media giant Facebook made an unsuccessful attempt at acquiring an app called Snow which shares an uncanny resemblance with the famous photo-sharing app Snapchat.
‘It’s true that Snow is receiving love calls from various companies,’ a representative from Snow told TechCrunch in a statement.
Snow, which has approximately 80 million downloads has been gaining increasing prominence since its inception. In fact, Facebook isn’t the only one who have expressed their interest in acquiring the app. Companies such as Tencent and Alibaba are also in the line of wanting to own Snow.
Facebook hasn’t given any official statement regarding this news.
Snow first gained popularity earlier this year as it gradually collected a total of 30 million downloads on both, Android and iOS platforms within a matter of months.
While Snow may be slightly similar to Snapchat, there are numerous other features of its own that make the app unique. The app offers users with an exhaustive number of graphics, selfie features including a number of Asian themes and its very own GIF mode.
