Xiaomi unveils Amzafit smartwatch with heart rate sensor

The smartwatch is touted to be the world's first smartwatch to feature a 28nm GPS sensor.

Xiaomi has launched its first smartwatch, the Amazfit, made in partnership with partner Huami. The smartwatch is priced at CNY 7,99 (approx Rs 8,000) and is exclusive to Chinese market. The company is yet to announce the availability of the smartwatch for the overseas markets.

The Xiaomi Amazfit comes with a ceramic bezel and a IP67 certified body. It is also scratch resistant and the 22 mm band is replaceable. The smartwatch is touted to be the world’s first smartwatch to feature a 28nm GPS sensor.

The smartwatch sports a 1.34 inch circular display with 300 x 300 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor with 512MB RAM. The smartwatch packs a heart rate sensor and all essential features of a smart tracker.

The smartwatch will work with Android devices that have the MiFit app installed. Xiaomi has also partnered with Alibaba for its AliPay mobile payment service.

The Amazfit draws its powers from a 200mAh battery that claims to deliver up to 5 days of battery life. It will run for only run for 30 hours with GPS enabled, while the battery last up to 11 days when using just the pedometer function.
