Now Apple working on Amazon Echo-like prototype
Amazon recently launched its smart speaker named Echo, taking the home automation hub by a storm. It appears like Apple will not be among those to be left behind. The company is constantly striving towards developing its own version of an Echo-like smart device based on the Siri voice assistant, reported Bloomberg Technology.
In fact, the project began over two years ago and is currently under prototype testing. It is believed that the smart device is especially being designed to control appliances, locks, lights, curtains via voice activation.
Moreover, in an attempt to develop something different from Echo and Google Home, some of the prototypes even contain facial recognition sensors that may help the device to act based on who is a room or the person’s emotional state.
Additionally, Apple is also considering integrating mapping information into the speaker (in collaboration between California-based hardware company, Cupertino and the Siri team) thereby, allowing the user to be notified regarding an appointment or any event that they have manually set up.
However, Apple still hasn’t finalized any plans as of yet and the possibilities of the project being scrapped still remain.
