Xiaomi launches an upgraded line-up of Mi Notebook Air in China

The laptop comes with 4G LTE connectivity and prices start at CNY 4,699.

Chinese Electronics Xiaomi first unveiled its laptop – the Mi Notebook Air earlier this year. The company has now introduced an upgraded line-up of the Mi Notebook Air laptop with 4G LTE connectivity named, ‘Mi Notebook Air 4G.’ Xiaomi has collaborated with telecomm carrier China Mobile Company’s network for the sale of the new range.

The new variants come with the same aesthetics as the previous line-up but offer a sleeker design, more upgraded processors and an immediate 4G wireless connection.

The 12.5-inch variant of Mi Notebook Air 4G features a full HD 1080p display with slim bezels, a 1MP webcam, a metallic finish, a backlit keyboard, a USB Type-C charging port. Furthermore, the laptop packs an Intel Core M3 processor coupled with 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 128GB (SATA) with a second SSD expansion slot and an HDMI port for TV connections. The laptop also includes AKG stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack and Dolby Digital surround sound support. The laptop’s battery life stands at 11.5 hours.

The 13-inch variant, on the other hand, packs the sixth-generation Intel Core i7 processor. According to the company, the laptop will provide a 10 per cent improvement over the previous processing power. Other specifications include a full HD display, an Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU with 1GB VRAM, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and 256GB of SSD.

While the 12.5-inch variant costs CNY 4,699 (approximately Rs 46,500), the 13-inch variant costs CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs 69,500). These laptops are only available in China as of now with no tentative launch dates for other markets.
