ASUS launches world's thinnest convertible laptop 'ZenBook Flip S' in India
ASUS has launched the world's thinnest and lightest convertible laptop dubbed ZenBook Flip S (UX370). The UX370 is 11.2mm thin and weighs just 1.1 kg, with latest 8th gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor with onboard LPDDR3 16GB RAM. The new laptop is built from a single block of aerospace-grade 6013 aluminium alloy, a material that is lighter than standard laptop alloy but 50 per cent stronger.
The ZenBook Flip S incorporates the new ErgoLift hinge that features a precision-engineered multi-gear metal mechanism. This hinge has a dual-action mechanism that lifts and tilts the keyboard into the typing position when the display is opened beyond 135 degrees. The ErgoLift hinge is subjected to a 20,000-cycle open-and-close test.
The two USB-C ports on ZenBook Flip S support external 4K UHD displays, power delivery and data transfer - all via the reversible, any-way-up USB-C connector. The bundled Mini Dock provides an HDMI port, a USB 3.1 port, and a USB-C port that supports fast charging. The devices use a high-capacity 39Wh lithium-polymer battery that supports fast-charge technology and charges up to 60 per cent in about 49 minutes.
The Flipbook Flip Ux370 comes with a 13.3-inch Touchscreen FHD display with a resolution of 1920x108 pixels with 300nits brightness and 72 per cent NTSC standard. The display is ultrathin with just 6.11mm physical bezel that gives it an 80 per cent screen-to-body ratio. With a resolution of FHD 1920x1080 16:9 and a pixel density of 330 pixels per inch, this display features 178-degree wide-view technology. The touchscreen display also supports an active stylus, such as the ASUS Pen.
For enhanced security, ZenBook Flip S comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the side. ASUS Smart Gesture allows up to four-finger gestures in Windows 10. The touchpad incorporates palm-rejection technology and handwriting support.
ZenBook Flip S supports all the latest features in Windows 10 including Cortana, the clever new voice-controlled personal digital assistant; Windows Hello for easy and secure biometric login; Windows Ink for intuitive drawing, sketching and annotating with a stylus; and Modern Standby for near-instant resume from sleep mode. The ASUS Zenbook flip UX370 will be available purchase to all retail partners in India for Rs 1, 30,990.
