Garmin launches Fenix 5 Plus range of smartwatches
Garmin has launched a whole new range of Fenix 5 Plus smartwatches and the line up consists of Fenix 5S Plus, Fenix 5 Plus and Fenix 5X Plus. As compared to the existing range of Fenix watches, the latest trio is loaded with impressive features to suit the needs of modern-day users.
For those who prefer doing payments online, the smartwatches incorporate Garmin Pay functionality which allows the user to make transactions through this puny watch. Its inbuilt music player connects with Bluetooth operated speakers and allows streaming music and downloading playlists offline via a few selected online music services such as Deezer. For those who wish to play offline songs, they can save maximum 500 songs in its internal storage.
The Garmin Fenix 5S Plus, Fenix 5 Plus and Fenix 5X Plus support GPS tracking for navigating routes. However, Garmin also provided a backup for instances when GPS fails which is Galileo tracking. The company has incorporated an added feature in Fenix 5X Plus model for adventure buffs. This functionality will keep showing the blood oxygen saturation levels of the user which is a vital aspect while trekking at heights with low oxygen level. The Fenix 5X achieves this by the integrated Pulse OX acclimation sensor.
Available in the sizes ranging from 42mm to 52mm in case size, the Garmin Fenix 5S Plus, Fenix 5 Plus and Fenix 5X Plus smartwatches are offered in multiple build types including PVD coated stainless steel models and titanium models which are said to be lightweight. When used as a standard watch, the Fenix 5S Plus lends battery backup of a week, Fenix 5 Plus lasts for 10 days while Fenix 5X Plus runs for around 20 days. However, the utilisation of music player and other advanced features can bring the back up down to four hours for Fenix 5S Plus, 8 hours for Fenix 5 Plus and 13 hours for Fenix 5X Plus.
All the aforementioned high-tech features demand a heavy price which ranges from $699.99 (approx. Rs 47,600) to $1,149 (approx. Rs 78,200) depending on the variant.
