The live streaming music service announced on its blog that Car Thing is part of its test program to understand people's listening habits and preferences. The hardware is a voice-controlled music and podcast device.
The test with Car Thing will be done with a small group of Spotify Premium users in the US only. The company promises to work on similar voice-specific tests which may include a 'Voice Thing' or a 'Home Thing'.
