Google is working on a headset that will sport AR and VR: report
Google is reportedly working on a high-end standalone headset, aimed to feature both augmented reality and virtual reality simultaneously.
According to earlier reports published by Recode, Google had killed its VR project, an Oculus Rift competitor. However, Engadget’s source said that the Google team is still working on a dedicated headset that blurs the line between virtual reality and augmented reality.
The source also revealed that the headset will not require the use of mobile or computer to function. While it will sport a screen, its features will be more inclined towards augmented reality than virtual reality.
However, the source has not revealed the release date for the headset. More information will be disclosed after an official announcement from Google.
