Meet Kobi an autonomous robot that does your gardening
New York – based start up The Kobi Company recently won the Pitchfire event at RoboBusiness 2016 with its Kobit 3-in-1, an autonomous robot landscaper that mows lawns, removes leaves from your gardens and snow blows the driveway.
The robot landscaper comprises of a rear base unit with three different modules that are connected to the base according to the type of gardening work required from it. The robot works at a speed of up to 2mph (3km/h) and uses a combination of GPS positioning along with cameras and ultrasonic sensors to navigate the area.
It connects through the user’s Wifi network and is powered by lithium-ion batteries. Interestingly, when the battery is low, Kobi even makes it way back to its ‘docking station’ for recharging.
Users are required to use the accompanying mobile app (available for both, iOS and Android devices) to show the perimeter in which Kobi needs to function.
Kobi also comes installed with an anti-theft mechanism which includes an alarm and an auto-disable mode for security purposes.
Kobi is expected to come at a starting price of $3,999 and will reportedly make its debut from early 2017.
