Apple releases WatchOS 3 for first generation watch
Apple announced the availability of a new operating system for its Apple Watch at the special launch event where the company launched two new iPhones and a new watch.
As the new devices start to roll out in the market, the company has already released the new WatchOS version 3 update for Apple Watch Series 1 users.
A salient feature of the WatchOS 3 is an improved user interface (UI), which now includes a new dock that can be accessed by the side button, and a new control center option.
The new tools make it much simpler for users to access apps and control toggles. Users can also use the new smart reply feature to reply quickly to messages on-the-go.
WatchOS 3 also helps users during workouts, and adds a new SOS function to automatically call 911 with a long press of the button.
In terms of health, the revamped OS allows users to share fitness data throughout the day. A new app, dubbed Breathe, has been added to the new OS, helping users to schedule and perform deep-breathing exercises.
The WatchOS 3 is freely available for download; it requires an iPhone and 50 per cent charge on the watch.
