Mumbai: In 2015, Manzana debuted in India with some affordable yet efficient computer peripherals and audio systems. One of which was the Manzana Blu Tuney Bluetooth wireless speaker. Recently, we got an opportunity for a hands-on review of the speakers and here is what we think about them.
The Blu Tuney audio speakers sport a 9x7x6.5 cm body, with a rubberised sleeve. Two wide speaker grilles run on the front and the back of the device. On the top edge sit two volume buttons with a call pause/receive button in the middle. On the rear-end, under the hood of the speaker’s skin, it sports the ports for AUX and USB and the power button. The left edge has a tiny ring-like handle to conveniently carry the speaker around.
The speaker has two LED notification lights, which are placed on the top edge of the speaker, that indicate charging and connectivity. The Manzana Blu Tuney is fuelled by a 1500mAh built-in lithium battery that easily lasts about 3-4 hours when played constantly.
Bundled along with the speaker are an AUX and a micro USB cable for charging. The speaker can also be charged using any conventional smartphone’s USB charger. It also features an in-built microphone for hands-free conversation.
The Manzana Blu Tuney has a frequency response of 180Hz-20-KHz, and a signal to noise ratio of 80dB. The speaker has a portable output of 4W.
Although slightly bulky in size, somehow the built and the speaker’s tiny handle makes it quite comfortable to hold and carry around.
Given the size and the asked price of Rs 1,449, the speaker’s offered sound quality of the wireless Bluetooth speaker is quite impressive. It delivers a nice meaty sound, although it does lack bass. Also, when played on full volume, you can hear a noise in the background.
The speakers are ideal for use at small gatherings and parties. We recommend there use in small-enclosed areas for enjoyable sound output. You can pair it with your tablet, smartphone or laptop to better the audio quality.
