Rugged Casio gets Android Wear

Casio has announced its second rugged smartwatch from the Pro trek family, the WSD-F20. The company is yet to announce the pricing of the smartwatch, but according to few online reports the smartwatch will cost around $450 for the US market.

The Pro Trek WSD-F20 is MIL-STD 810G rated making it water resistant up to 50 meters. The new model will be powered by Android Wear 2.0 Google’s OS for wearables. The smartwatch borrows most of its design from its predecessor. It features the same black and orange color scheme, or just pure black, tinted with screws at the top and bottom of the display.

 

It sports the same 1.32-inch dual layer display with 320 x 320 pixel resolution. New innards include a built-in GPS and satellite view-style color maps, which can be viewed from the watch offline.

Casio has also added some activity tracking features including ‘Location memory’ that allows users to pin markers along their routes. The company is yet to reveal the battery used for the WSD-F20.
